AN ASSET OF TULUNADU
Reknowned for its Tulu Baduku Vasthu Sangrahalaya (Tulu Museum), our organisation is the only ethnographic museum on Tuluva Culture. What began as the personal collection of its founder, Dr. Thukaram Poojary, has now grown into a large collection of historical, cultural artefacts showcasing the Tuluva way of life. Apart from the museum the organisation today houses
an Art Gallery depicting the life and achievements of Rani Abbakka, the Gallant Tuluva Queen, a Library named after the Tuluva Veteran SU Paniyadi, and a numismatic section. Dr. Thukaram Poojary, has left no stones unturned in enriching the Tuluva past for an empowered future of the regions heritage.

Prof. Poojary spoke with so much depth and took us to a different world. Art has this unique power to take us inti ‘wow’ state of mind. When we experience something good, our mind would be like ‘I wish I had this experience much earlier’. Tulu Museum was one such great experience.
Amazing treasure house of artefacts representing living and vanishing Tulu culture. That one man has built it us all the more amazing, and that he was once my student makes it an assuring footnote!
The museum in full of stories, material culture and local history. The efforts of Dr. Poojary and Dr. Ashalatha should be an example to all of us. Beautifully designed and displayed.
A fantastic collection and excellently arranged and presented.
A wonderful exploration into the visual culture of Tulunadu. As all traces of earlier cultures disappear, references to musculature will be well preserved.
The best regional museum ever visited.
I see lots of similarities between Japanese and Tulu heritage and felt closeness between the nations.
